I'll have to look up my source again, but I'm sure I read it somewhere. Irregardless, women still have several things they are punished for unfairly. I believe Leviticus 19:20 is interesting in that respect: "And whoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to her husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given to her, she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free." Pretty much what it says is that if a woman is a servant/slave, and she gets raped, SHE gets punished, and the man gets away free.

Hi, I at one time wondered why the law seemed harder on women, so I studied Leviticus, and found that the law is pure love from God, in his provision care and desire to sustain the Hebrew people.

Think of things, if you or I witnessed stoning for not keeping the Sabbath and all which God commanded about the Sabbath, more than likely we would not do the same thing. So, I would gather it didn't take much for people to realize, I need keep these laws lest I be stoned.

This is how it was during the law given to the Hebrews.

Anyway, God loves women very well, same as men, but all was given to protect, help, reveal God (compassion), etc.

But lack of love does not necessarily mean that you have to do harmful things... there are many I do not love, and there are many I downright hate. But I'm not going to say, fly hijacked airliners into buildings because I don't like people. Really, the worse I see as reasonable if you don't like someone is to limit contact with them. So again - why does God allow evil to happen?
People like to say God allows evil to happen.

Truth is; God created angels, some sinned, and man and women, and they sinned. Sin entered the world. All sin is wrongdoing and all sin is evil. God created us with free will. He does not go against our free will. So evil reighns because God has created us, and we fell, as did some of the angels, and people sin against themselves, God or against others, evil.

God will however, in the future put an end to all this as I stated below.

We are in a time now of grace, and in this time many are coming to Christ. When evil has it's full, it appears. according to Matthew 24, then the end times will start occuring which is the beginning of the end.

Blessings,
tapero

When God created man and woman, they were without sin. Actually they did not even have the concept of right and wrong. Then Satan came to them and taught them how to rebel against God and how to sin. Since then, Satan and his minions have been able to influence all of humanity. Since we have free will, we have the option of whether to follow those influences or follow God. The more you give in to Satan and his influences the further you move from God and closer to "the side of evil". Even after a Christian becomes a Christian he is still influenced by these forces in an attempt by Satan to destroy his or her testimony. But the great thing is as a Christian, we also have the Holy Spirit which influences us in the other way "the side of good". We still have free will and get to choose which way to go, but God helps us to stay on the right path and if we stray he still forgives us.

Apologies; my mind doesn't go to theological ideas on as many things as Christians do.

And I said possibly outdated moral codes. My example would be the sin of women working - I'd think that's a bit oudated.

But that's not a sin. That's a social more. Social mores do become outdated. Sin does not, unless it's a law given under a specific circumstance, such as God's admonition against shaving the corners of your beard

You said God would need to destroy Humanity to get rid of evil. Why is that? I thought God was all-powerful.

Because mankind has a sin nature, which is evil. God is all powerful, but cannot do that which is illogical. God cannot get rid of evil an not get rid of evil at the same time.
