Evil is the word "live" backwards...

"And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." Genesis 1:31

Heaveno my friends,

When Adam and Eve were living in the Garden of Eden, they did not yet know "evil". They didn't even know what it was to be naked...

They were living in God's perfect creation. A creation that was perpetually sustainable. A creation in which eternal life in the physical was the only reality.

However, it was "eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil" that caused them to open their eyes and realize that they were naked (Genesis 3:7)... and eventually caused them to grow old and die.

Here's my theory:

God is the Creator, he created everything, including everything that lives, along with the environment that allows it to live. Man and Woman did not die until their "eyes were opened" after eating from the tree of knowledge, which is when they "became like God, knowing good and evil" (Genesis 3:22)...

Essential, when Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge, they became creators, like God, and started in a new direction of creating a reality that is different from the Garden of Eden... A reality that would surely cause them to die...

Ever since the moment Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge, mankind has been creating a reality that is nothing like the Garden of Eden. In fact, we have been cutting down forests and putting up walls around us to live in. We have been building cities and entertaining ourselves in ways that did not exist in the Garden of Eden. We have covered our eyes with sunglasses, wrapped our bodies in clothes, exposed ourselves to loud music, ingested processed foods, etc. and we are all living very short lives in comparison to Adam and Eve and their direct decedents...

However, I believe that all of this has been necessary...

It has been necessary for us so that we can understand that there is not, and cannot be, a more perfect creation, in which we can live eternally in the physical, than God's original creation (that of the Garden of Eden). In fact, any other attempted creations will, and have, surely led to death...

Which is why the word evil (in the tree of knowledge of good and evil) comes after the word good and is simply the word live backwards... Because "good" is what God created, and to live a life that is backwards from the lives we lived in the Garden of Eden (God's perfect creation) is evil and leads to death...

And after all these years, we are still living evil lives... and dying.

But the good new is that we now know both good and evil... What we choose to do with this knowledge is what will determine if we choose to die or to "put forth our hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever" (Genesis 3:22)

Seriously?

In ENGLISH live is the reverse of evil. It makes no sense to think they are somehow theologically related.

you mean ,the spelling is reverse.
the meaning is not.

it is a fun and interesting analogy that the word evil brings about death if it is practiced.

but certainly it is not sound theology .unless the phenomenon of the word -live when reversed in any language ..meant evil.
im pretty sure it doesn't..
so it remains a fun analogy .but in english only.

Do we have a choice?
Really?there is no choice ,it's Jesus or judgment and death. Death is not choice,it's consequence of disobedience...
Sorry...just thinking aloud here.

Are we saying that you need to obey Christ in order to become his? What does it mean to "Obey Christ" anyways?

Does it mean following some pastor or preacher (another man or woman) or actually doing what Jesus specifically said? What does it mean to "do" what Jesus said? How do we do what Jesus said? And, just what did Jesus say?

(Just wondering, just in case some of us plan on actually setting out to "do" it), (not just talk the talk, but walk the walk)...

God Bless!

It's very similar to a palindrome. That's why I contributed. -_-

"Devil" is the word "lived" backwards... Surely there is some significance here...

The only significance could only be in the English language... Perhaps God meant for it to be that way (in the English language) in the future, perhaps not...

Maybe there is some significance to it, maybe not?

Of there is some significance, in what way? What/How should we "read" (look) into it?

God Bless!

And Eve was the first human to commit evil... The sound of her name is the first syllable in Evil... There must be a reason for these occurrences in one of the most used language for Christians...

I was just drawing a line between these words (which are written in "God's book" that we are all reading, quoting, and agree to be His word) , along with attempting to show that we live in a reality that is no where near what the garden of Eden was like... And that we chose to create this reality (with our minds and our hands)... And are suffering because of it.

English is not the most used language for Christians. Now and certainly not historically.

The English did not even become Christians until the 8th Century and did not become a significant country until the 18th Century.

I think some people think God speaks in English. It's unfortunate that English speakers think that not only does the world revolve around them, but God too.

But I don't speak any other language... Are you telling me my version of the "word of God" is not as good as your version? Then where should I turn for my study of the scriptures?

I am sure there have been many translations, but I am also sure that they all having meaning to those who are seeking...

Isn't there a story in the bible about God destroying the Tower of Babel and scattering the language into many? Are all of those languages wrong? Which one is the first one and who's going to translate it? Can it be guaranteed that that translation is accurate?

I'm just working with what I have available to me. I am seeking because I have been promised that I will find what I am looking for... And your idea of my scripture being incorrect is just as influential (to me) as me saying that your scripture is incorrect (is this statement influential to you..?)

To the English speaker...he speaks English.etc.
He sure didn't speak Mongolian to Abraham..
