Desmalia - if there is a post that's a flagrant violation and you don't want to report it - pm me (or any Fundamentalist mod) a link - we'll go from there.

We want the Fundamentalist Christian forum to be a "safe haven." I'm the first to admit I don't have the time to read every post here and could easily miss something.

As far as the current topic of this particular thread - again, please don't feed the bears.

My birthplace (Cuba), parental ethnicity for generations and first language all make me Hispanic. such terms do not offend me, but may offend others.

There is more than enough offense from the Gospel that I think it is counter-productive to add unnecessary baggage. Even so, sometimes I get irritated with the constant demands of our Pol. Correct times. .

Here's an evil fundy plot that was actually put into action: since reading the word by every individual was judged far better than relaying on the opinions of a priviledged priestly caste, fundys were adamant on literacy. So much so they were even (shockers) willing to educate even girls and even from the public purse.

My name is Hagnismos. I'm a fundy. I've tried to stop taking the Bible so seriously but I keep falling back into it. I'm hoping by seeking out some people going through the same experience maybe I can learn to live with this...

Here are some things about this site that I am having trouble with.

Why are there so many gay activists here? How do you handle when someone tells you they are pro-LGBT, pro-choice and spirit-filled? Do any of you look out at America today and have that deep sad sinking feeling like Jeremiah weeping over Jerusalem?

Well first, if you're looking for help to stop taking the Bible so seriously, you won't find any in the Fundie forum! lol. We all care deeply about the Bible.

As far as your concerns about CF go, yes I certainly can relate. I think we must remember that we are the remnant, and forums like this are basically a mission field. We need to approach every discussion prayerfully and with grace. These are hurting, lost people who need to know Christ. Speak the truth boldly, but with love, not anger.

Well I'm certainly not going to try to talk you out of taking the Bible seriously. Actually most of the time I am trying to convince others to take it more seriously. (including myself sometimes )

Well I attempt to tell then the truth with love. That is what we are called to do. It's not always easy.
