Evidence proved evolution is just a theory

Why does this allways have to degenerate into an either/or argument? Is the cornerstone of your faith that evolution is false? How in the world can modern biology threaten you so much that you people become so emotional and insist that scientists are just a bunch of idiot liars or willfully evil people? Do you realize that by doing it you are pushing people away from christianity and not towards it?

Well first of all there is no real evidence only evidence that crackpot christian scienctist have tried to proof is real. But guess what no one accepts it. If it was credible evidence of a global flood it would be in all the science books and would be accepted by science.

I agree completely. I remember debating with a creationist, and he was of the opinion that since scientific theories are modified all the time, then that must make science weak, therefore its conclusions are equally weak. Especially evolution.

It seems that the conclusion is that scientists modify their theories to fit the data. Creationists modify the data to fit their theories. Given this, it's not at all surprising that scientists are "wrong" a lot more often than creationists.

When will some people agree that the built in checks for errors within the scientific method is not a weakness, but a tremendous strength?

Tinker and Seebs: I have read some of your post on this thread. You do not really agree with evolution. You say that you do. But the evolution that you and some of the others have crafted in your minds is not what Science is contending.

Evolution has no plan and no planner .

That principal is its foundation.

Sorry but that is the truth.

Before you defend a theory you should first understand it.

It is not. A plan or a planner or the lack of is not mentioned in the theory of evolution.

I appreciate your concern, but in the main, armageddonman is correct.

Science makes no statements about the supernatural. It cannot. Science is only about what is measurable and predictable. The supernatural cannot measured or predicted (tho' we might assume that whatever the supernatural does is consistent with God's revealed character.)

The fact that some scientists (e.g., Dawkins) take a philosophical position based on evolution has no bearing on the fact that evolution, in and of itself, is neutral.

Technically, evolution is not a theory. There are a couple religions that can come from evolution though.

Liberal Christianity
Agnosticism - Not knowing if God exists
Gnosticism - Believes that God does not exist
Wicca - Not really from evolution, but Wiccans believe in it


How int he world can you say agnosticism comes from evolution. I have doubted a god my entire life. But i never gave evolution a thought until my high school years. that is just a ridiculous statement.

And perhaps christians are liberal for other reasons, women who dont want to be submissive etc...

i agree..It is fear that intelligent scientific fact that is detracting from the religion. And they don't want to be proved the belief their life is based on is wrong. So instead of evolving with the information, they refuse it.
oh well...i saw a bumper sticker that said
If evolution is outlawed, only outlaws will evolve.. so be it im ready for change
