My deepest apologies, but a wrong piece of code has deleted everyone's blessings in hand.

All blessings in the bank are still intact.

Because of this, I've decided to give every member 1,000 blessings.

If you had more than 1,000 blessings, please PM me. :) Otherwise, be blessed! :)
Just out of curiosity is there any Stipulation/condition to this!
I know I didn't have 1000 Blessings so I'm HAPPY, just wondering! L4G

Edit: Oh Duh, forget I asked the answer is in orig post!

lol, isn't it sad that when I logged in today and saw I had 1000 blessings I instantly assumed something like this had happened? Anyways... it rocks. I had a bunch of blessings but nowhere near 1000!

On a related note: don't you love when programs completely blow away important data? I can think of several memorable experiences where that happened to me... in one it was a large class project. About 400-500 files of at least 200 lines each. All in one directory. One night me and a group of people are hacking away at this code base and one of us (we aren't going to mention names) decided to clean up a bunch of spare temp database files we had created -- of course we just stored them in the same directory as the source -- one mistake later and the entire codebase is ether. Thank goodness for CVS (code repositories)... we were able to restore the entire project back and only lose a couple hours work for the four of us.

In the other memorable case it was not so nice. I'm not sure what code you use to create the site here or what OS you develop on. But you probably know of Makefiles and their power. Another large project. This one is personal and I am not using CVS. I have been developing it in my dorm room (BSD type unix) but to test it I need to run it in the lab -- (Linux with specialized hardware). The project grew to the point where I needed a Makefile and I made one on my home machine. I went to the lab and before compiling noticed a small thing I wanted to fix... which led to another thing... EIGHT hours of heavy modification on this code was done that day. I revamped large chunks of it to fix the code (I had been given an outdated spec when I started so the overhaul was needed to even test it). After eight hours I save all the files. I type make and it spits out an error. Turns out the syntax for gmake is slightly different then pmake... not a major issue though I can manually do it. Hmm, that's odd... ARG!!! It turns out that gmake combined with my Makefile was destructive on my source... it zero'd EVERY SINGLE FILE. Eight hours and tons of modifications lost. There was no recovering it... I wasn't using CVS at the lab computer for this project... all I had was the code I had started with.

Anyway, I feel your pain. Losing not only data but user-data... that hurts. lol... at least you weren't working at a real bank.

I tried to give them to Shannonkish to give to newbies as you suggested..

She did not want them. So I started an Art contest for Newbies entitled

Christmas ornaments... It is in Christian only forums under art ... I will dole

out all 1000 over time as ideas come in and people like them.... I hope this

is okay... If not delete the thread and tell me how I can list just Newbies?

I do not want to spend too much time on this...the contest seemed positive

for them.....whatdoyathink?:priest:
Sure, that's fine. :)

Before the accident, I had about 3,010 blessings.

BUt I didn't want to say anything because:

1. I had no way to document it, and I didn't want it to seem like I was looking for a "freebee".

2. I didn't want to seem like a crybaby

But then I was talking to some people in the chat box, and they said I should mention it.

Okay, now I know why I suddenly had a thousand blessings. Erwin, kindly adjust mine back down to 115 (one hundred and fifteen) at your earliest convenience. I don't want anything I don't deserve.
Feel free to give your extra blessings to any newbie members. Go and bless others. :)

I missed this error... But I'd like to say how good it is that the administration has replaced lost blessings. Some interactive forum communities have major errors and don't give back the items or money the people lose, and merely apologize. It's refreshing to see something like this.
