Jn207, thank you. That is exactly what I am looking for.

FordPrefect, 42! er ... I mean, yes, I will take your word for it. If you are a witness to papers actually giving column-inches and TV/radio giving air-time, then that is good enough for me.

Kristine, the reason I might make this assumption is because humans in general and especially those on the internet seem especially susceptible to rumors that seem to have their only life on the internet. IOW, it has happened before (consider ye olde "Madelaine Murry O'Hair has a bill before congress to take 'In God we trust' off our money). It will happen again. If the only links I can find are ones that seem to exist to spread fear, I will doubt the story.

I am a Christian, and I particularly dislike the spread of rumors that make us look like idiots.

Fortunately, in some sense, this story is not merely a product of a fevered imagination.

Like 4jc said, if it passes there it is only a matter of time before all other countries follow suit. And then what else will be eliminated from God's Word? I can tell you. ALL of it.

Gerry,
This is a little deviation from the original topic, but in response to your comments, take a good look at the new money and compare it to the old, if you can find any. They took some REAL IMPORTANT verbage off money, and it is not just to simplify the way money looks. It's an indication that there's foul play afoot. Check it out. If you haven't done this yet, you'll be SHOCKED.

Patty, could you fill us in on the differences (or send us links to before and after pics?).

A lot of us in this thread don't see a lot of American bills (old or new) - and if we did we'd put in in the bank or spend it right away since $20 US is worth $30 Canadian! (thanks to the stupid markets!)

thanks

Bill C-415 would add "sexual orientation" to the current list of identifiable groups (i.e. colour, race, religion and ethnic origin) in the "hate propaganda" sections of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Where the end-times thing comes from, I have no idea. The bill adds two words to an already existing law.

We'll never convert a sigle homosexual by shouting at him how evil and abhorrent he is, anyway. Why would any good Christian want the right to do it? It turns more people away from Christ than it brings forward. We should lead by example, not inflammatory pedagogy.

Hey Kristine,

There's lots that I could say about the fraud about money, but for now, I'll just point out a couple of things about the new bills.

First, I'd just like to point out that the words, "In God We Trust" are still on the bills - on the back side as usual. That hasn't changed.

What has changed is that the old bills used to have the Great Seal of the United States on the back - both sides of the Seal. It's now gone. Maybe some folks might not think that important, but I see it as a step in the wrong direction.

Next, on the front of the old bills, it had the name of the Federal Reserve Branch that was responsible for issuing the bill. Now, that's gone. Are they now only issuing the bills from one central location? What is the implication here? Has the Federal Reserve Bank System changed in structure? Why? It seems that the accountability that the 12 Federal Reserve banks have is different. Otherwise, the branch's identity would be clearly marked on the bill. What do you think the implication is that the Federal Reserve bank branch, which handles and manages all monetary goings-on in it's district, no longer identifiable on the bill? Does it make a difference? Yes.

Most people are probably aware that all paper currency in the United States is known as "Federal Reserve Note". Paper money used to be referred to as "Silver Certificates". Before that, they were "Gold Certificates". What's the big deal? Really big. Used to be that your dollar was exchangeable for gold - or silver on demand. Now, you cannot exchange it for anything - but it's a DEBT item that you are given. A NOTE is an IOU. The dollar that you hold is a debt security with nothing backing it. You hold worthless paper. Because it says "Note" on it now, they can print up as much as they desire without making sure that they have something to back it. One day, if or when the system goes bust - for example, if they decide to go EURODOLLAR or the like and give folks only a specific window of time to exchange their currency - anyone holding the old currency is out of luck. But, there's more, much more I can say about money. I won't now. Maybe I'll start a thread on it. Maybe not.

What I am concerned about is that Hitler's "New World Order" is finally in the makes.

4jc,

So essentially, if this passes, forget about voicing your opinion then or you'd get thrown in jail?  Sheesh...what next?

I hope this doesn't pass, and hope it doesn't happen here in the US.  We have that thing called the "freedom of speech", but I guess we'll see.....

Peace in Christ,

Terri

Blindfaith, That is okay if I get thrown in jail for the sake of Christ. Because if this bill passed and I voiced my opinion(and you can be sure I would) and they threw me in jail I would be in there a long time, cause my faith is stronger than any bill they can produce.
What was that scripture? No weapon formed against me will prevail.
I WILL WIN CAUSE I HAVE CHRIST

EDIT: I HAVE WON CAUSE I HAVE CHRIST.
