I played EQ from Feb. 2001 up intil one month ago. I finally had to delete all my characters and gave my account away. lol It had that much of a hold on me.

I had a blast while I played though. I had a 46 Iksar Beastlord on FV server who was 100% legit. I never had him PLed and never had a single plat or piece of gear given to him. Of course gear wasn't much of a problem since epics are the only nodrop items there.

I mostly played on Druzzil Ro and that's where all my friends were. Man, those were some good times. Getting chased out of OT by goons. Oh, and the trains in KC. :sigh: I miss it.

But I'm a spandex wearing, mutant blaster in Paragon City now. lol

Also, is it worth starting a brand new char from scratch on EQ?

The Everquest world is 5 years old now. Even on a new server you're joining a game with many updates, nearly a hundred zones, skill levels that go to 500, areas that will be nearly permanently camped and guilds entrenched like bedrock.

I'd say if you're going to start fresh, wait for EQ2 and give it a shot.
