  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Zhash couldn't help but poke fun at the two females. Times as serious as these needed a bit of humor, "We need someone to blame when it all goes wrong!" Zhash smiled sarcastically at Kelli and Sierra before returning his attention to Atlas, "I agree completely. I will begin working toward an alliance tomorrow as soon as I can. I would start today, but it is getting late and we will all need some sleep before morning."

Atlas nodded. "Agreed."
"As for you, Kelliana, you can do as you please; however, I would be very grateful if you would go back to Exeter. I would like someone who could tell me more of his doings. But, if you want to stay with Obacai and me, or to go with Scott, I will not stop you. The same applies to Sierra.
"Now, I think I will go to rest. I am very sore and I hope to feel much less by tomorrow."

ooc: yay boxers! Way to articulate! Lol jk

ic: *Sierra nodded and left after Scott. She went to her room and Kelli stood turning to the door muttering* i hate this... *Back in her room Sierra flung her boots off with thuds against the floor and tossed her bag onto her bed. Quickly she stuffed all her clothes into it and changed into sleeping clothes. Crawling into bed Sierra couldn't even close her eyes. She had to talk to Scott. Getting back up and leaving her room she padded barefoot down the hall to Scott's room. She knocked quietly* Scott? Scott, can I talk to you?

Zhash walked briskly to his room before changing into some sleeping garments. Although he had suggested the sleep, he could not force himself to leave the concious world. Too much hang in the balance now. Not only were there blood-thirsty monks after his life and home city, he had a duty to fill to help form the new Empire. To try and calm himself, Zhash counted compliments he could give to the King the next day until he slowly drifted off.

*Kelli paced her room, anxiously awaiting tomorrow. There was no way she could sleep now. She decided to go find somewhere to pick up some supplies, hopefully there was somewhere open. Quietly she made her way out of the tavern and down the road, the hood of her cloak pulled over her head.*
ooc: If you're planning to attack Kelli, do it now.

ooc: That was weird

ic: *Sierra closed the door behind her and stood with her back to it, she didn't know how she was going to tell Scott this so she came right out and said it* I want to go with you! I promise I won't get in the way, a..and you won't even know I'm there! *She took a breath, that wasn't quite what she wanted to say, but she just HAD to say something to Scott, her weakness.*

((ALL RIGHT EVERYONE!!! IT'S MORNING TIME!!! WAKEY WAKEY!!))

After getting himself ready for the day, Zhash went with Atlas to confront the King about a possible alliance. The morning sun had just risen and a few stray beams fell in Zhash's eyes, forcing him to blink, I hope this will work. Everything depends on it.

Nothing short of a royal greeting was bestowed upon the two as they entered the castle. Zhash put on his fake air of confidence, genius, and pleasantry. He nodded to the less enobled around him as they greeted him with his alias, Obacai. Everything was in its place. It was right.

That was until Obacai and Atlas neared the doors that led to the room where the king was. Obacai cut off a gasp as he saw who stood by the doors. The short royal scribe provided a temporary distraction, "Obacai, Athos. Now that you two are here, we may proceed with the meeting. You may see the king."

Zhash gave the scribe a questioning glance before his attention was grabbed by the now opening doors. Zhash followed the others as they moved to the head of an extremely long, elegantly set table. Zhash looked to the others and thought about who they were.

Present also were Daethalion, Vlasdimir, Exeter, and Retta along with a few other nobles of little influence.

*Kelli had been out all night, now slightly drunk. It felt horrible. She stumbled back to the inn early morning and knocked on Sierra's door. Sierra opened the door, her eyes puffy and red from crying all night, but her things were packed and she was ready to leave with Scott. Kelli gullped and stared bleary eyed at Sierra, slurring her words* You... need tah goooo with Zhashbannn an' Atlasss, hehe, they nee' a woman aroun' tah keep 'em on thar toes... Goo' luck! *Kelli stumbled away down the hall and into her room, slamming the door. Sierra on the other hand, stood in the doorway. Not go with Scott? But! She sighed and slumped against the door, orders were orders. She grabbed her bag and boots and left to the castle*

*Sierra sat outside the castle gate. She watched the people pass as she rubbed her eyes. How could Kelli do this? She knew Sierra wanted to go with Scott. This made her so angry! She looked around again and saw Scott at the nearby dock, boarding a ship. She stood and bolted to the docks, but the crowd gathered to wave them off was thick and Sierra pushed her way to the near front. Dockmen grumbled about her pushing, and one fell into the water as the result. She got to the boat too late, they had already pushed off. Which left Sierra alone once more. All she could do was watch Scott float across the channel. She didn't know when she would see him again*

(((Alright, let's see what my incoherent mind can create here...)))

As the king's guest seated themselves at the table, Exeter took the position of prominence, Vlasdimir stood behind him as a personal servant would do. At least, he would have, except he was beheaded several posts later, which actually occurred before this event, so, in some twisted laws of physics, his beheading was both before and after this point. Bottom line, Vlasdimir left because it is improper edicate to appear before the king without one's head. Beside this, he had an appointment with the people who intended to behead him. A difficult task, considering he had no head.
However, Daethalion sat at a lesser position near the middle of the table. Zhash sat across from Exeter as the second most prominent, with Atlas next to him.
The king, already seated, called to Daethalion, "Maxim! Come, sit closer. The runner-up of the Tournament of Kings holds more honor than others. Sit across from Athos."
"Yes, your highness," Daethalion said, standing and bowing lightly before sitting where the king requested.
"Now," the king began, "before we begin with your business, Villefort, it is most unusual that you would come, Athos. I heard about your poisoning and was going to come to you, but I see you are doing well enough to come to me. How are you feeling?"
"Your Majesty," Atlas said, "The poison has taken its effects, I am still in pain, but the doctors assure me that the pain can be subdued and is not a sign of damage. However, we have come to speak to you on other matters; my kingdom would like to form an allience with yours. With--"
The king held up his hand to interrupt Atlas. "If that is the case, it is a matter to discuss after Sir Villefort's audience, for he requested this hearing before you. Master Villefort?"
Exeter stood and bowed. "Your Highness, I have come for the very same reason. I have heard rumors of a gathering army that threatens my territories. My forces may not be enough to repel them on their own, but with the support of your kingdom, we may be able to deter them from attacking. I realize that--"
The king rubbed his chin as Exeter continued his formal speech. After a moment's musing, the king held up his hand for Exeter to stop.
Exeter nodded, but instead said, "Your majesty, if I may, I--"
"You may not," the king announced, then said, "Maixm, to what purpose do you seek an audience? Would you like an allience as well?"
Daethalion smiled, a rueful and chilling smile, the king thought, but somehow it fit him. "No, you Honor. I am here for three-fold reason. First, Villefort has sought my kingdom for an alliance, thus it behooves me to know of his affairs. Second, I heard rumor that Athos was coming to see you, and as I was curious of his welfare, I decide to come to see him and learn of his plans and, if possible, help him as needed. Finally, something in my heart told me that fateful things would occur here this morning, and I always watch the hands of Fate. Thus, I am hear merely to witness the graces of your court, your Honor, which has been of high esteem, and to observe the workings of Fate."
The King chuckled at Daethalion's reply. "Well said, good Maxim. Now, Obacia, are you the spokesman for Athos? If so, what of this allience you seek?"

((Wow I wish I could write formal royal language like that. Excuse my commonness, take it for its meaning, not its presentation.))

Obacai cleared his throat before answering the King, "My lord, by the very gathering of all these nobles at this very time," Obacai waved his hand as he motioned to the others who were seated, "it is evident that the matter at hand is of vital importance. Yes, I do represent Athos, and I am going to advise you to allign your good self with him. A man of great foresight and, as he has already demonstrated, a man of great skill, Athos will not displease you if this alliance were to be made."

Suddenly, Retta stood up and pointed an accusing finger in Obacai's direction, "LIAR! Do not listen to this man, my liege! A pig is more worthy of his title and influence! He is a coward and a liar. He comes to this glorious capital under false pretenses! He..."

The King cut Retta off, "Do sit down, Retta, and take these phony accusations else where! I will not have my judgement of character questioned! I gave Obacai his position, and you would be very unwise to directly question my authority."

Retta slowly sat back in his seat, his eye twitching. Insanity over the last few days had slowly started to eat away at him, "Yes, my lord. As you say."

"Very well. Obacai, please continue."

Obacai silently whispered a short thanks to heaven before continuing, "As I was about to say, good King, I believe that by alligning yourself with Athos, you will do good for the Kingdom, and for yourself," Obacai changed the pitch of his voice slightly as he whispered his last line, which he knew would hook the King if taken correctly, "He has great ambitions, but desires no wealth for himself beyond what he needs to sustain him. You will very likely make a good profit through this venture."

Obacai was finished for now, but he knew not for ever. The others would doubtlessly make an attempt to throw his arguments over, but he knew that he had definitely grabbed the King's attention...and favor. How Obacai suddenly loved it that the Sun King's great pleasure in gold could be used to such an advantage.
