Brevic gave a look that said, "You want them to hear you?! Quiet down?" before he actually spoke quietly and whispered, "Even if you cannot, perhaps you should still accept. They think you have some sort of influence over him."
Brevic began to twitch in his seat. He didn't like the looks on the three who were debating Kelli's future. He had never seen so much malice in their eyes before. Or was he falling for the beauty of the girl? Did he just feel sorry for her, was that why he was becoming soft? He didn't know yet.
After several minutes, the three monks of Kra-Akka broke up and drew their swords. Each sword was nearly identical; long, broad, and silver for the most part, but when exposed to the moonlight, they would shine a ghastly blood colored red. The eldest pointed his sword at Kelli as the other two followed. The eldest spoke, "By a direct call, Kelli, you have been judged as unworthy of the call by Kra-Akka himself. As an unbeliever, you are not allowed to know of the existence of the Monks of Kra-Akka, therefore, we must purify this meeting."
The elder looked at Brevic, "Stand aside young follower as we perform the purification rites of Kra-Akka!"
Brevic hesitated a second and then glared the elder down, "You won't kill her, will you?"
The elder gave Brevic a quizzical glance, "Well of course we are! That is part of the purification rites! Now, stand aside so that you may learn to one day become a monk yourself!"
Brevic didn't move, but instead looked to Kelli, who's unmoving courage and unfaltering beauty shone all the more in the dark, moonlit room. Brevic suddenly knew what he had to do. Standing, Brevic held out his hands, "You can't kill her! This isn't right!"
The elder screamed, "How dare you defy me! Farifock! Webtilin! Perform the purification!"
The two other monks moved at Brevic, their swords leveled. They neared to within striking range when Brevic suddenly wielded his own sword, identical to the monks, and parried the swing of both of the attackers at once as he hissed, "Not without a fight!"
Letting the force of the monks' swords push him down, Brevic slid underneath the monks, jumping to his feet on the other side. With a quick jab he had plunged his sword into the backside of the younger monk and blood spurted everywhere as the young monk fell to his knees.
Drawing his sword out just intime to block an attack by the other monk, Brevic regained his footing and swung, chopping off the monk's hand. In one smooth motion, Brevic continued his swing up around his head, twirling his blade, then plunging the sword into the monk's heart.
"FOOL!!"
The elder's voice shrieked as he moved in with his own sword and catching Brevic from behind in the back. A fatal wound, but immediate death did not come to Brevic. Turning to Kelli, he threw his sword in her direction, "Save yourself!! Save Atlas!! Save the land!!"
Finally, falling to his knees, coughing up blood, Brevic took his final breaths before completely collapsing to the floor.
The elder looked down at the fallen corpse of Brevic, then back up at Kelli, "Why try to go against the will of Kra-Akka?! See what becomes of you?" His sword still leveld, the elder took one step toward Kelli.
((Sorry for the long post, but I needed to get rid of Brevic. Good time for Dominic to come in to save Kelli!!!))
((Oh yeah, feel free to control the elder: He's NPC anyways. Just, you might want to not kill him and let Dominic take care of him for the plot to thicken more easily))
