  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I see obviously where Eve disobeyed God, but I don't see her sin any worse than many of us do every day.

Curious, gullible, yet some of the selfishness we associate with sin doesn't seem to apply here, as she shares with Adam any benifit she thinks she will recieve from the fruit.

In fact Adam comes accross as more self serving as he quickly shifts the blame.

I find it interesting too, that the first sin is not in your face defiance, but cohersion with immediate shame.

Just some thoughts!

Eve was just like most humans and assumed she had the ability and the right to question her creator. I don't know where people get off. That is how Satan deceived her. He introduced into her mind the idea that she had the capability of judging God. “Has God indeed said,". And if he said it he really didn't mean it. 'you really won't die'. She rejected God's sovereignty and truthfulness. And this is out of somebody that had the priviledge of Christ coming and walking in the garden with them everyday. People are arrogant, the sin of Satan.

Then she entered the blame game instead of taking responsibility for her own thinking. Another thing Satan is good at,,,the accuser of the brethern.

Man and woman were designed to rule over the earth. Part of the consequences of sin was her becoming subject to the man's authority and 'your desire will be for your husband'. Women's focus remains on their man. Men's focus is their work.

Hi Princess Ellie,

How about doing an internet search on Eve, and then writing down your sermon?

I'm sure there are a lot of cool and insightful websites about Eve.

Try typing 'who is Eve in the Bible' or something like that in your search box?

Sending love and blessings back!

_____________

p.s. There were other good posts here, I just happened to be writing and submitting mine the same time you all were! That happens sometimes -- we all post at the same time BEFORE we get to read what others wrote... so I just wanted to say good insight all! And, yes, I agree "the ye old shift the blame game" started in the garden. Eve blamed the snake, Adam blamed God and Eve... all were punished equally by God.

Here's that same thought in a humorous way:

God blamed Adam,

Adam blamed Eve,

Eve blamed the snake,

And of course he didn't have a leg to stand on!
