:D :D :D hey does anyone here like evanescence. I LOVE EVANESCENCE lol, I'm a huge fan. I love all their songs. I can't wait for their second album, but i can't belive Ben left; it just won't be the same anymore. Hopefully their songs will still be great. I can relate to a lot of their songs, which actually have meaning to them, unlike many of the songs u see or hear.

Correction: they've already had two albums out. Just there were only 1000 copies made of the first. Or something like that; I'm a casual fan and just working off memory from what others have said.

And one of the band members left? Woah, didn't hear about that. Why'd he leave?

Origin was their first album, but Fallen was their debut w/ Wind-Up records. Ben left during a tour in germany i think. I don't know why he left, all i heard was he just packed up and left. Regarding the christian band thing, ive heard that they were trying to say that there music isn't about christianity just about life experiences they've had. But just their not christian band doesnt mean that they themselves aren't christian.

If they decide to do another album, it won't have near the impact it's had. Ben did all the writing for both albums and the EP.

As for Ben leaving, I saw that coming 2 years ago. He and Amy have always had this strange relationship. They stuck together even though they didn't want to. I think Ben had just had enough and left.

As for the whole Xian thing. If you call Ben flipping off crowds and them both swearing up a storm durring interviews, so be it. They have truly fallen from where they were when I knew them. As for the music, it's all mainly about God for the most part. Most of it was just older songs they redid for Fallen were songs they wrote when they were an Xian band...

Amy helped write some of the songs, yes, but the ideas behind all the songs came from Ben. He was the one with all the writing skills. Guess we will just have to wait and see how things pan out. They sure picked an excelent replacment, Limp Bizkit's old guitarest *sarcasm*

Yah, they totally rock!! What does a Xian band mean anyway?

Anyway, I love how their songs refer to God and people who supposedly don't listen to Christian music at least listen to something like this!
Xian = Christian

And it doesn't help any when you have the guitarest renounce the bands ties to Xianity on tv and in mags followed by several uses of the "F word".

Okay I haven't listened to the album in a long time, so I could be wrong, but I only saw I think one reference to God in "my Tourniquet" I wouldn't call them a christian band.
You are thinking too one sided. A lot of these "Contemperary Xian's" think that was which is why the church is an unaccepting place. I go to church wearing black... black clothes, black lipstick, black eyeliner with a black cross down the right side of my face (Yes, I'm male) and a lot of these churches have the nerve to call me evil or unGodly because of my clothing. And yet, I am a pastor...

With Evanescence and a lot of other bands, they speak in a language these contemp people have trouble understanding. This "goth" talk of using other means of talking about God is normal for the subculture... though I don't really look at them as being goth anymore. :\

None the less, the meaning is there even though you can't see it. In most of their songs, they are speaking of spiritual matters, you just have to look beyond the blinders and see.
