Evanescence...

Although a secular band, the members are Christians. Do you think that, as some of the lyrics can be interpreted as strong messages for God, they're an ok band? I like them anyway. But don't just answer that questions, what are your thoughts on Evanescece in general?

Actually, I'm kinda going against them, because the one time they accidentally appeared on the Christian charts, they were really freaked out. So now, they want to have no connection to the Christian charts.

The claims of them being a 'Christian' band were trumped up by the media, because Amy and Ben had met years earlier at a church camp. Once they found out they were being distro'ed in Christian stores, THEY requested that their albums be pulled from the shelves. None of the members claim to be Christians.

I like 'em. I like their music, so I listen to them.

Supposedly their guitarist is a Christian, who used to be in a supposedly Christian metal band, if such a thing isn't an oxymoron.

Actually, I stand somewhat corrected.

Rocky, their drummer, was the guitarist in Living Sacrifice, a Christian metal band. I don't know if he still claims to be a Christian, although I guess that's between him and God. I've not read him in any interviews lately to know one way or the other.

They have to "dry hump the cash cow". It'd be kinda pointless having a band and all.

But, regardless of how much they might suck, or blow, or stink, Amy Lee is still one hot semi-gothic chick. I think they should keep on releasing videos at least, even if it's without music, so that way we still get to see Amy Lee look hot.

I like Evanescence. I feel connected to much of their material (emotionally speaking). I don't care if they're heathens or not; as musicians, they rank high on my list.

They're good.... by American standards. I prefer Nightwish(if you liked Evanescence, you will LOVE Nightwish), but I think Evanescence is as good as it is gonna get in the American musical quagmire.

I am told that the reason they wanted to stay off the Christian charts was because people who would listen to them if they weren't Christian would stop buying their albums, and that they wanted to reach out to those people with their music. I dunno about the last part, from what you guys are saying about the heathenous band members...

But yeah, I like Whisper... that one's really good. They need to make a new album, and Nightwish still owns them.

me either, I listen to nothing but music by heathens & I am glad to do so. I only reason I mentioned it is cuz people claim they are saved, or a Christian band.

I doubt it.

They're a pack of wild heathens, musically they aren't really the greatest, most talented force in nature, (that'd be Meshuggah) but they are popular, so listen to 'em

Pretty much all of the songs on Fallen are great! I also like the duet Amy Lee did w/ Seether.

i love evanescence. they are awesome , i've seen them twice in concert, amy's voice sounds even better live.

my favorite songs of theirs is Field Of Innocence, So Close, Missing, Breathe No More, Farther Away and many others.

i can't wait for their new album
