Eternity Lies Beyond
The sun sets on another day,
Leaving behind every care, every worry.
I turn back, longing for what I am leaving behind,
A past that has left me standing alone.
A tear rolls down my cheeck.
A tear full of pain, anger and longing.
It is all over now, a past that is no more.
My eyes meet the clouds on the horizon before me.
Darkness slowly creeps in upon the land.
I step forward, not knowing my destination.
Only knowing that eternity lies beyond.
