CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I thank God for His wonderful grace, and I thank Jesus for His willingness to get His hands dirty for me, to drag me out of the cesspool I put myself in. I have been addicted to many things in my life, and still struggle with food addictions like sugar, chips, and junk I know is not healthy, and have been able to overcome by the grace of God of certain addictions like ice cream, candy, soft drinks, and coffee/caffeine. I thank God that by His grace He delivered me from alcohol, pornography, drugs, co-dependency, and hate. There was a time in my life when I hated my father and his religion so much that I had no intention of ever being a Christian. But I was a hypocrite because I claimed to be a Christian to just to keep them off my back. But one day God met me where I was, and spoke to me (almost audibly, and I knew it was Him) saying "I am calling you for the last time," and then I was shown the lake of fire in which I was about to be cast into. In my mind I had no choice in the matter, hell was not an option; so I bowed my knees and surrendered to the Almighty Christ. It has been a hard struggle, but He helped me to find the ultimate peace with Himself, the "sabbath rest" written about in Hebrews. He powerfully fulfilled Romans 8:16 that His Spirit bore witness to my spirit that I am His son, and I never doubted that truth since. Praise God for His infinite mercy, and praise Jesus for His wonderful grace; He is truly the Good Shepherd and Great Physician.
