From reading Pam's responses, it seems to me, that she thinks that because she accepted Christ and was "saved", that she has already entered this eternal life and salvation that Christ promised us. What she doesn't realize is that Christ did promise us this, but not on earth..."my Kindgom is not of this world...

So basically you cannot be saved or recieve eternal life in this world..you can work at it an be in the process of being saved, thats all..

Just my opinion, no offense...

Often times we project ourselves unto others what we think they are feeling or thinking, though it is not reality, just self. That article proves the case, I see, that indeed chiliasm was the earliest view as would make sense since it agrees with Matthew, Mark, John, Paul, Peter, James and Jude, as well as the OT prophets in the millennial peace when the lamb and the lion will lay down together. Take for example what Jude said that the holy myriads (saints) shall return with Christ, or Zech. 14:4 that Christ will step down on the mount of olives in Person. Why don't you believe in Matt. 19:28 which is the renegeration of the world and the last 1000 years on earth before the seas pass away? Since we are not of this world, and the kingdom of God is in us now, and we are already in the new creation, does that not explain we have resurrection life now?

MOD HAT ON

If I was not clear in my earlier post....let me be clear now. There is to be no arguing, debating, teaching by those from other congregations in TAW or any other congregational forum. If this continues, I will shut this thread down.

Blessings to all.

If the majority of the church at the time rejected a belief, why do you think that it is the correct belief, or even that it predated the other belief? The Church often rid itself of those who would preach things that were contrary to Christian teaching, should we also embrace Arianism?

Also, we believe in Matt 19:28. The disciples who left homes and families to follow Jesus will be rewarded in God's Kingdom. Those of us who do likewise will also be rewarded. That has nothing to do with any millenial categories, nor does it have to do with once saved always saved. And it is pretty rude to insinuate that we do not believe something in the Bible merely because we have a different understanding of it than you.

The reason we have the Word of God is because of just such kind of disagreement. Since only a small portion of the church is spiritual, your determining factor should not be the majority or those with more control in Christendom. Does the Word clearly show that the Great Tribulation has occurred already? so therefore the millennium does not start until after that when believers who are watchful are rewarded with reigning? Arianism is a false teaching isn't it, so you should not believe it? Matt. 19:28 says "regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel". The 12 tribes of Israel are on earth. It is not that you have a view that disagrees with people, but that it would need to line up with the Word. Isn't that guiding principle? Many verses show us that the lamb and the lion do not lay down together, nor are the saints reigning over the nations on earth yet, so how can you believe we are in the millennial peace, especially considering there is still wars and rumors of wars? And God say eternal life is eternal, when you said it is not. How do you resolve these problems if not by repentance?
