Eternal calling

Jeremiah 1:5

Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you and before you were born I set you apart and appointed you a prophet to the nations.

This was the Lord's calling to the Prophet Jeremiah. We have a notion that somehow we choose God. It's humbling to realize that God had called us before we were even conceived. Are we obedient to that heavenly vision today (Acts 26:19, 1 Corinthians 12)?

We are Called to be his children by his adoption unto sons and now enjoy the blessing of being joint heirs with the eternal Son, that will never change.
