ESV Study Bible

Greetings! I have been away from the site for over 2 years. I just wanted to say HI again and see if any of you have been using the ESV Study Bible and to get your thoughts on it.

I have been using it for quite a while now and I think it is very good! It's definitely friendly to a reformed perspective but not too specifically dogmatic.

I just began switching from NIV to ESV. Is the ESV Study Bible the same thing as the Reformation Study Bible?

No it is a completely different Study Bible. The Theological editor for the ESV Study Bible is J I Packer and the general editor is Wayne Grudem.

I haven't used the ESV study bible a lot, but from what I can tell it seems like a good bible and is one of those I would refer to if I should look up something in a bible.

I am still a KJV only guy even though my church uses the esv.

ESV for me NASB for my wife --- it's fun to compare but both are solid. Have had no issues with the ESV study bible notes and have used if for a year. She's a Thompson Chain fanatic ----

I wish the Thompson were available in ESV!

Apparently there's another thread here where someone mentioned the ESV being based off of corrupt manuscripts.
