A family of five has been killed in Texas by a convicted murderer who escaped from a prison bus, according to the authorities.

Fugitive Gonzalo Lopes, 46, was shot dead late on Thursday night, according to Texas prison system officials, but not before he massacred the family – including three children – and stole their pick-up truck.

Police found the bodies at the family’s weekend cabin in the woods after they received a call from someone concerned about not hearing back from an elderly relative.

The fugitive was thought to be have been hiding in the vicinity of the cabin.

“Law enforcement in Atascosa County located the stolen vehicle, disabled it with spike strips, and gunfire ensued,” said Jason Clark, spokesman for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

He was “killed by law enforcement in Atascosa County. He shot at officers who returned fire killing him.”

that is what I am saying 25 states now (come the first of the year) allow anyone 21+ who is allowed to have a gun ( not a convicted felon, or otherwise forbidden from having gun ( there are a number of other groups that applies to. to carry with no sort of permit ( even though for a number of reasons most people suggest that you still get one .

It's not the government's responsibility to protect people. The government says so...there are two Supreme Court rulings on that subject.

Just in case you want to hear a good legal background for those court rulings and all the rationale behind it, here is a great video by a lawyer explaining it all.

The lawyer covers how the ruling applies even in the Parkland and Uvalde situations. Essentially, the government only has a duty to protect prisoners in jail. So in that case, the government had a duty to protect the convict Lopez, but not the family he slaughtered.

I won't deny that history. We're only told to "watch" and that's all each of us can do in our own generation. I believe Paul taught emminency, which is, Christ could return at any time, so we're to always be prepared. Could I be wrong? Yes. I see through a glass dimly, and only in part. Could I be right? Yes. Israel is back in its land, we have the technology to fulfill scripture, the final empire that Daniel predicted would be in place may be forming now (all the POTUS since Bush Sr have been talking about it, as well as other nations, many traditional enemies), etc...
