Ok. I gave this site a read and these are my thoughts. No matter where you go, and no matter what you do, or believe, someone somewhere will not only disagree with you, they will try to force you to abandon what you believe. To say that our society is "erasing christianity" is a blatant over-statement, and grants way to much attention to people who try to actually do it. Sites like this do nothing but incite false fear and paranoia, and often cause overzealousness in Christianity, which is the very reason why many feel opposed to it to begin with. Sites like this often cause people who feel lost that are researching christianity to only find a group of people so afraid of losing social control (which should not be the point of faith) that they create sites like this to keep their followers afraid of the outside world.
On the front page of the site, it describes a young man who wore a shirt that said "Homosexuality is shameful." Note that he wore the shirt at a public, state owned school with no connection to religion as a state institution. If this is what he believes, fine. But does he have the right to wear it on a shirt and go to school shoving that belief in other people's faces? No. For example, could i walk around my college with a "Muslims Suck" or a "Buddhists are bald devil worshippers" shirt on, conveying the same overzealous religious message? No.
I am fully aware that persecution of Christians happens all over the world. I am fully aware of what happens in communist nations and rogue states in Africa, Asia, and a few Arab states. However, we need to realize that ALL religions experience persecution, and that Christianity is not exclusive to this.
When it comes to erasingchristianity.org, READ WITH CARE. Certain things are true, and certain things seem to be blown WAY out of proportion.
