• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

In what ways are men and women the same?
In what ways are men and women different?

They are the same in their humanity and in their intrinsic worth.
They are different as a group physically, emotionally and intellectually. Those group differences do not define the individuals within those groups and ought not to be a reason for judging the individual. As each individual man and woman is also different from each other man and woman physically, emotionally and intellectually, there is no rational reason to stereotype any individual.

I really like that answer.
Do you have a view / examples of aspects that on the whole:
Women are better than men?
Men are better than women?

I would say the average woman is better at delivering children and the average man is better at lifting heavy weights. There are many other things but there is a wealth of scientifically researched information in the literature to google in order to find those answers.

Men are from Mars. Women are from Venus.

But seriously, women live longer than men. In most developed countries, the difference is significant--women outlive men by 6-8 years. Largely from lower rates of heart disease and cancer. Also women handle stress differently--and often better--than men. They are more attuned to relationships with others that act as support systems and outlets to diffuse difficult situations. Men tend to be less reliant on others, and either keep difficulties to themselves, or try to fight them. Which actually takes more of a psychological and physical toll.

Men and women should not compete against each other.
Competition, as is true of cooperation, should exist between persons of all ages, ethnicities, sexes, religious and political persuasions, etc.. And they assuredly evolved to do exactly that.

Two men and a woman out walking,
they came to river with a strong current.

The first man jumped in and swam across,
the second man found a rowing boat and rowed across.

The woman bent down and took a map out of her backpack,

and crossed over a bridge 100 meters downstream.

The competition of men and women is a modernist idea implemented by corporations

1. Your discomfort with change is noted.
2. Your apparent discomfort with progress is noted.
3. Your bizarre misinterpretation of the source of competition is noted.
4. Your deliberate(?) disregard of the equally/more important role of cooperation in male-female interaction is noted with a mix of disappointment and cynicism.

Feel free to provide evidence to support your views on the origin of male/female competition.

We were created to cooperate, not compete.

Men have penises and women have vaginas.
What's the purpose of the inquiry?
I'm interested in how accurate is the claim that men and women are equal, particularly in the areas of education and the workplace.

Thank you, that's just the sort of answer I was looking for. I'll follow it up with more research.
