Entrapped

I open my eyes and all I see is darkness
I cannot see beyond the pain
Too many memories to allow for forgiveness of others or even of myself

The love of Christ is just a word to me
The truth is just a phrase
Forgiveness is an impossibility

Jesus wipe my mind, dull the pain
Show me another way
Lead me from the path I am on to what you would have me do.

Lord I lie at your feet
Teach me to forgive others and then in turn, myself.
Heal the pain of my memories
Help me to see beyond the darkness.

This is an interesting poem.

Jesus said he is the light. We just need to look to him and
darkness has to flee. It has no choice.
