  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This is one of the mysteries of the Bible. Please read my Blog it may surprise you.
I would like to start a Fellowship on the teachings from the Book of Enoch and how it relates to the Bible.

Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, "and was not found, because God had taken him"; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. Jude 1:14-15 [14]
Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, "Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, [15] to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him." We first learn of Enoch in Genesis 5 but it leaves us with questions. Hebrews 11 has the answers and Jude quotes Enoch!

I've read the book of Enoch in a commentary about apocryphas. The thing with Enoch is that, according to the commentary, parts of it may have been added up much later and there were varying translations with certain parts missing or not included at all.

I'd be wary on studying the book of Enoch if I were you, because we can't really be sure which parts of Enoch (as we have it today) are the original ones that Jude quoted on and which parts have been added onto.

You do have a point but I use the various editions of the Book including the Ethiopian Copy which is the copy held in the highest esteem. If I can calibrate the verses like Constantine did at the Council of Laonecia to form the scripture we call the Bible today then I consider it valid. All of the editions have several things in common. They all agree that indeed there were Watchers and that they did lust after the daughters of men. They also agree that the Watchers made a pact between themselves and the names of the 19 Watchers included in this pact are the same in all editions of the Book of Enoch.
Have you examined where I tied in Enoch with the Book of Revelation? Something happened in Genesis 6 and the world should know about it instead of being left in the fog as Constantine the Emperor would have us believe. The Second Coming is geared up to include some type of Mystery of God as stated in Rev. 10. What is this mystery? Could it have anything to do with Genesis 6? I believe it does! Your point is well taken but the Holy Spirit has been guiding me through this interuptation. :holy:
