  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

you can think of it that way, or you can look to the massive majority of non religious people in Britain.

But I know from Legion Of Mary door to door work that at least 80% of people are Christians if you probe- they believe Jesus existed and many believe that he died for their sins.

Most however, don't seem to think this is important enough to give up an hour on Sunday for. That is the way it seems to me. I would be very wary about these statistics.

If they are true... well Perhaps it is better to have an islamic Britain than a secular Britain.

I love that Cathedral. I went to confession there almost two years ago. It has the most beautiful mosaics!

Awe no! In my opinion The Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King, (or the "Wigwam" if you`re a local!) is one of the most amazing and beautiful Churches I`ve seen.

Compare it to Durham or York..

The English Royal Family, by LAW cannot become Catholic, or they lose their right to the throne.

I remember hearing a ridiculous argument that if the royals were allowed to convert, and they wanted to keep their fidei defensor title, would they have to give the Pope the UK's nuclear codes?

I have, I still love the Met through!

I reckon it`s highly unlikely that HRH actually has the UKs nuclear codes, and I find it equally unlikely that the Holy Father would be in any way intrested in learning them.

Ahh, see I don't like the circular design at all. I prefer the traditional tranceptual church designs.

Eek. And I thought this was a problem we only had here in the US.

I much prefer churches that look like churches, not auditoriums that happen to have a table in the front (or worse, in the middle).
