is about "The Christian and Alcoholic Beverages."

He notes that he has come out with a DVD (included in his Abundant Life DVD)

"With the help of 125 powerpoint slides, I share the findings of my research which shows that the Bible clearly teaches total abstinence, and not moderation."

You can find it here (along with previous issues): http://www.biblicalperspectives.com/endtimeissues/

"thrashed" or "trashed" might be better words. The Bible is quite clear. To paraphrase C. S. Lewis: "When people say that they have "intellectual problems" with the biblical teaching of abstinence, you can bet its because they want to sip or guzzle to their hearts content." They aren't satisfied to do it in a dark corner somewhere, but actively seek to promote it to others so that they won't be "alone" on the judgment day.

I don't believe that the Bible explicitly forbids drinking alcoholic beverages. While the Bible doesn't say nice things about alcohol, I don't think it specifically prohibits it. But I don't drink. I won't. I have other reasons.

If there was something that caused family problems, made people lose their mental faculties, inhibitions and self control and do or say stupid and often immoral things they later regret; something that baited people who are depressed, and then made chemical changes in their brain that made their depression worse, caused many traffic fatalities, that the overuse of caused serious health problems or death...

...would we need the Bible to tell us it was something Christians should avoid?

I don't believe that the Bible explicitly forbids drinking alcoholic beverages

How explicit does it have to be?

And considering that even one drink of wine affects your judgment do you really think that your Creator expected you to drink alcoholic beverages? Does that make sense in the light of

Proverbs 20:1
Wine is a mocker, strong drink* is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.

*They didn't have distilled beverages till 500 A.D.. so this is talking about a sweet sugary drink that apparently has gone bad.
