Directions on how to dress up::cool:

This is a dress up game to look like an animal who is an endangered species (wear the colors of the animal or bird) and tell us the name of the animal or bird or aquatic, too. You can write about the bird, animal or aquatic but you don't have to. Judging will be on how well you match the colors of the species.

You need to get a picture of one off the web. You can do a search on "endangered species."

For your entry post a picture of the animal and dress according to it's colors and add whatever you want to the rest of the pic.

I know I am a day early and that is OK! I do not mind waiting for my screenshot. I was on a mission to do this one today and now it is done.

I am a Spix macaw!

Spix's macaw is the world's rarest bird, believed to have become extinct in the wild as of 2000.

Wildlife experts believe there may have been 25,000 to as many as 75,000 nesting bald eagles in the lower 48 states when the bird was adopted as our national symbol in 1782. Since that time, the bald eagle has suffered from habitat destruction and degradation, illegal shooting, and contamination of it's food source, most notably due to the pesticide DDT. By the early 1960s there were fewer than 450 bald eagle nesting pairs in the lower 48 states.
In 1940, noting that the national bird was "threatened with extinction," Congress passed the Bald Eagle Protection Act which made it illegal to kill, harass, possess (without a premit), or sell bald eagles. In 1967, bald eagles were officially declared an endangered species in all areas of the United States south of the 40th parallel.
Today because of Federal and State agencies and the involvement of private organizations there are now more than 4,000 adult bald eagle nesting pairs and an unknown number of young and subadults in the conterminous United States.
