  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

End Times.

Daniel is the book that assists understandings of the Book of Revelation.

Daniel 12:4: But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Daniel 12:6: And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?
Daniel 12: 8: And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?
Daniel 12:9: And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
Danel 12:13: But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.

Throughout ancient days, people always moved slowly by walking, riding horses or carriages. It was only till 100 years ago, when modern technology boomed with transportations now take people everywhere fast. This is the time, the end time, when knowledge has tremendously increased.

I believe that we are right at the threshold of the prophesies in Revelation. In my studding of history, and the Bible, there were some periods in the history of the world that it came very close to what John writes. However, now we are closer, and all the circumstances round about us indicates that all the major prophesies in the Bible have been fulfilled, and we are walking in to the end times.
I do have to admit that Revelation still a little blurry to me, I don't quite understand all the ins and outs of it. But I do see a lot falling in place for the coming of our Lord Jesus. For example, it talks about a major army, of millions. No were in history this could have been fulfilled except now; it is obvious that it is China. Furthermore, all that is taking place in the Middle East right now just shows that we are a step closer.

With all that in mind, look up to heaven for our redemption is near!!!!

Thanks!

It's important the Christian's don't run around crying 'wolf' in regards to End Times. There is nothing wrong with discussing it and all that, but Christians making claims that don't come true makes doubters doubt scripture even more. Some people think it will bring people to Christ, but most of the time it will probably have the opposite effect.

Paul mentions to us in 1 Thess 5 that we are not in darkness that that day should over take us as a thief. What is the light that we are in? The Psalmist declares "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path". Daniel was an example of this truth. He was reading the book of Jeremiah and by it understood the days in which he was living. The writer to the book of Hebrews says in 10:25

"24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."

The writer says "As you see the Day approaching". Means scripture gives us some signs to see the Day approaching. Just like when you are driving to another city, you will see signs along the way letting you know you are getting closer to the city.

Daniel 9 tells us that Israel and Jerusalem are at the center of all future prophecy. So if you want to know the time, look toward Israel. The fact is the end times truly started on May 14, 1948 when Israel became a nation once again and the time of the Gentiles expired.

There are so many prophecies Daniel 2 and 7 Revived Roman Empire, Ezekiel 36-37 Israel reborn, Isaiah 19 Egypt will enter turbulent times, Ezekiel 38-39/Psalm 83 the nations around Israel (Russia and Iran including) will plan to destroy her, but God will wipe out all but 1/6th of the invading armies. Jesus mentioned in Luke 21 and Matthew 24 signs to look for. The book of Revelation mentions some technologies that have been invented within my life time, like Satellite, world wide banking/credit system, the ability to mark someone like VeriChip. The list is now so large, I can't imagine any student of the bible not understanding the times in which we currently live. We are at the end of the period of grace, soon and very soon Jesus will be coming in the air to receive His bride to Himself, then the world will see tribulation as never has been seen. First there will be a false saviour and a false prophet. He will appear to be the Messiah and even will confirm the covenant with Israel for 3 1/2 years. Many believe that the anti-Christ will help Israel rebuild their temple (Ezekiel 40-43).

interesting stuff. the world can end at any time. just saying it's not so clear to me. these guys were pretty sure end times were at hand as well.

Yes, but Back then Israel was not a nation born as of yet in the 2nd Century. As far as putting a time on it. Let me return to my example of driving from a city to another. You can see by the signs you are getting closer. However you do not know what lies ahead. There can be detours, car accidents, other things that will move the time of arrival out. However, this does not change the fact that His coming is at the door. We are expected to be ready and watching (1 Thess 5). If we do not discern the times then we are no better off than the Jews who failed to discern the time of their visitation. I expect the Lord to come back any day now. I believe we are far nearer than when we first believed. Only thing is I am not putting a date on anything, I just see all the signs of prophecy in play... this means to me as Jesus said in Luke 21 look up for your redemption draws near.. for He said.. when you see these things begin to happen.... Means you must be looking to see. Don't go to sleep my friend, now it is time to be wide awake.

I think so but just how many end days there are left is the question and I think most of the posters have agreed. If you're a child of God I suppose it doesn't matter. I guess, just live each day as if it were your last cause it might be. In my case, I'll probably die from a block of refuse from an airplane toilet falling on my head or something.

Yes or no. And why do you believe in your yes or no?

Thanks

I do believe we are living in the last days. I think all the things happeniing are setting us up for what is to come. They have people being implanted with chips(I will not be getting any chips in myself or my child), also you used to be able to go to store and just give cash but now technology has it where the food is scanned and whatnot. The technology is getting stronger. things and people are getting more corrupt. There are more reasons but most of all, I just feel it in my heart, the Lord is coming back soon.:amen:

Ok it has been a while since I asked this question and I have seen the yes and no.

Now I will tell you that I do not believe we are even close to the end. It is still far off.

So now a new question, to everyone, but mainly to those that believe we are near the end.

How soon would you want the end to come and why?
