Sometimes it seems that way, and at other times I wonder why God is taking so long. It's probably the flawed material He has to work with in my case.
Another prediction, which was perhaps the most unusual (and I didn't believe him at the time myself) was "I think you'll be doing a cleaning job. You won't like it much and you won't be doing it for long, but I think the LORD will just want you to hear about a ghost". I've related this before. At the time I though it was over the top.
But fast forward to 2006 (January to April) I did a cleaning job for a short time (4 months), didn't like it much, and "heard about a ghost". I think it was the "ghost" of a former manager of a store in a town called Ipswich outside Brisbane. He committed suicide sometime in the 1960's and my interpretation is that he was doing his Purgatory there.
I'm stilll waiting to find out exactly WHY the Lord wanted me to "hear about a ghost" (it's one of those things that makes me wonder why God is taking so long) but I suppose I'll find out in God's good time (to use the cliche).
The fact remains though that not too many pastors could sit behind their desk and make that kind of accurate prediction.
There was one humorous hint about how long God might take. I suppose I was about 30 at the time (nudging 70 now - I had a pretty full head of hair back then - my hairstyle now is pretty close to that of the smilies

) when I said to one of the pastor's sons "How am I supposed to know what I'm expected to do?"
He replied "You might be waiting a long time. Moses was 80 before he led the Israelites out of Egypt!"
I remember thinking to myself "Thanks a lot!!"
