• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together.   • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

VERSES TO TUCK INTO OUR HEARTS

This section is included to provide a snapshot of scriptures that will hopefully encourage you during times of despair and loss. By embracing these words while we are stable, we will be stronger for the battle. You will notice that I have included II Cor 10:5 in each section. I feel that it is one of the most important verses that we as bipolars' can claim and use as a foundation in our relationship with Christ. During relapse, our thoughts become our enemy and need to be compared to what God has to say about us and to us.


CONFUSION

John 1:12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God

I Cor 6:17 But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit.

I Cor 14:33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.

II Cor 5:18, 19 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. (19) that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them.

FEAR

Ps 4:8 I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord make me dwell in safety.

Pr 29:25 Fear of man will prove to be a snare but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.

Rom 8:14, 15 Because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. (15) For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship.

Rom 16:20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.

Phil 1:6 Being confident in this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ.

I Thess 5:5 You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.


INABILITY TO "FEEL" GOD

John 15:1, 5 I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. (5) I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Gal 3:26, 28 You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, (28) there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

I Thess 4:17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

Heb 8:10 This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord, I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God and they will be my people.

Heb 10:10 And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ for all.


INADEQUATE

John 15:15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

Rom 6:18 You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

Rom 8:17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs, heirs of God and coheirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

I Cor 3:16 Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's spirit lives in you?

WORTHLESSNESS

Matt 5:13 You are the salt of the earth.

Matt 5:14 You are the light of the world

John 15:16 You did not choose me but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last.
