Hey all!
I know I stop by here every once in a while, not as often as I used to, but I just want to let you all know that I speak as one who was where some of you may be today. Everyday you wake up, you're faced with intrusive thoughts, about God, about the Holy Spirit, while you're trying to pray, read the Bible, go to church, praise, and get closer to God. It's hard. And at one point the thoughts had me considering committing suicide because it felt that death was better than living life like that. But despite it all, God brought me out. I'm not saying that I never get intrusive thoughts anymore, but they are rare, once in a blue moon, and when they come, rather than stay on it, and try to fix it, and pray for forgiveness, i thank God. I thank God everytime they come because they remind me of how God brought me out, and how it used to be way worse. So a situation that was meant for my destruction, God used for His glory. God brought me so far out that there are days that I forget I ever went through that trial. And had I not went through it, I wouldnt have learned true faith, pressing despite my feelings, pressing when I hurt, when I didnt understand, when I was confused. I wouldnt have learned true prayer and how to lean entirely on God. Glory to His name !
If I could give you any advise, words of wisdom, it'd be that despite how you feel, continue anyhow. Despite what your mind may try to tell you, go on with Christ anyhow. Believe His word over your feelings. That's true faith. Moving despite the obstacles, the intimidation, the fear.
I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. John 14:18
Believe that. Believe He will not abandon you. Despite how you feel. Despite how bad it's been. Believe. Because even in your darkest hour, God is closer to you than you think. Right beside you. Believe.
God bless you all.
