  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Okay everyone, this thread is for encouraging and uplifting one another! Say something encouraging to the person who posts above you :)

If it's not a CF member you know then post an encouraging verse or encouraging advice you've been given. Tell us all a bit about you and areas you need encouragement in

My encouragement areas: Getting a job, relationships, life in general:)

My encouragment for everyone:

I like Psalm 27. It's a great one for singles, mainly because at the end there's one verse that has stuck in my mind for many years, that is good to repeat over and over:

"Wait for the Lord;be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord"
-Psalm 27:14

I know it's a short verse, but it carries a lot of weight. It reminds me to trust in God above all else, before I begin trying to do it all myself, because I know I can't do it all myself. It also reminds me not to mope around about not being married or other areas of my life I'm uncertain about. Hope that helps someone! God bless!

Hi there! :)

I like this thread idea. I think it's cool you thought of it.

My encouragement area: my prayer/fasting life, finding my spiritual gifts, and finding my place in ministry for the Lord.

Here's a good verse. Isaiah 50: 10. :holy:
¶Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.
Isaiah 50:10

It reminds us that no matter how bleak things look, or how bad we see ourselves as being, God is always with us. :)

I think, like the typical person, my encouragement areas are found in everyday daily living. A job, school, relationships and most importantly, faith. It's so easy to get thrown off the faith and standing by what God wants us to do, so that is my area of concern.

A few words of encouragement that I live by are found in Psalms 32:1-2

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

We can go through so many things, but no matter what life or any spiritual wickedness is high places may throw at us...we're blessed. If our transgressions have been forgiven and our sins are covered - we are blessed. That scripture is found in the Old Testament, it is looking into the future blessing that Jesus has provided for us. The writers of the Psalms knew what a blessed man was. That is one of the scriptures I live by.

So let's put any circumstances aside, let's put the problem away for a while and admire the fact that we're still blessed.

Great idea, Living4Him03! Nice to see some encouragement getting thrown around here. Here are two bible passages that I like:

"Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your heart's desires." Psalms 37:4.

Just remember, God doesn't always give you the things you want, when you want them. And just because He doesn't answer your prayers exactly how and when you thing He should, it doesn't mean that He isn't going to answer them!

"No dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and recieve the prize for which God, through Jesus Christ, is calling us up to heaven." Philippians 3:13-14.

I like the second one in particular, because it reminds me that now matter how dark our pasts were, our futures are very bright.
