• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Emergency!

Great show! Johnny Gage and Roy something were the main paramedics, right? Dixie McCall was the cute nurse!
That's Roy DeSoto. The other main characters were:

Dr. Kelly Brackett, M.D. FACS (Robert Fuller)

Dr. Joe Early, M.D. FACS (Bobby Troup)

Dr. Michael Morton, M.D. (Ron Pinkard)

Capt. Dick Hammer(1st season only)(Dick Hammer)

Capt. VanOrden (1st season only)(John Smith)

Capt. Henry "Hank" Stanley (Michael Norell)

FF Engineer Mike Stoker (Michael Stoker)

FF Chet Kelly (Tim Donnelly)

FF Marco Lopez (Marco Lopez)

A Note: Dick Hammer and Mike Stoker were actual LA County firefighters. Capt. Hammer died in 1999 and Capt. Stoker retired two years before that.
Also, a note about the fire apparatii. The first engine 51 was a 1965 Crown Firecoach. Universal Studios used LACoFD engines 60 and 127 for Engine 51. The second Engine 51 is a Ward LaFrance P80 Ambassador. To this date, that engine is still in service at Yosemite National Park.

Although I haven't seen it in 20+ years, I was a big fan of Emergency. Do any of you remember the cartoon version they aired on Saturday mornings for a season or few?

No, missed that one.

I'm sure "stunt casting" has existed since the advent of television, but one of my favorites was when they cast him on Battlestar Galactica.
