for the last serveral years my wife and i have been in "battle" with her ex over child support. last year her kids chose to live with their dad full time, because of that he has taken us to court to have us pay child support to him. one child has since moved out on her own. the other one still lives with his dad. ( the father is a professed atheist)
we just got a phone call stating that we need to be in court today around 2 pm. our attorney has said that if we go to court, based on the last three years income from my wife we will be told that we will have to pay between 850 to 1000 a month, in addition to that there are some old outstanding medical bills that will add an additional 200 to 400 a month. my wifes income has been cut by half of what it was last year, we have already moved into a smaller apt. to trim expenses and we are looking at trying to refi our cars as well. no matter how you slice up the pie the money is not there. the Lord at thiss time has not provided the income to pay this child support. even if we give up all the ministry work we are doing and both take second jobs i do not see where we will come up with that level of money to pay that child support.
our attorney says to take the out of court settlement of 750 a month, we do not even have that money.
we do not know what to do. we are not even sure what to really pray about, do we pray for money, jobs, a grace filled judge who will neglect what the laws say and work with us, we just do not know.
please pray for guidance in a direct and immediate way.
