No, the earth is old because it existed before the cataclysm that befell it. Man and the animals with him are of recent origin, not the earth or previous life - dinosaurs.

If your grandkids are playing a game and they demand that one of them be called "The President of the United States" does that mean that he is the President? People playing at science don't get to say that a WAG is a theory.
