Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaay...
Irrelevant.
Irrelevant.
That is not part of the definition of a nested hierarchy. When I say "an army is a nested hierarchy" that is not the same as saying "the tactics of the army are a nested hierarchy."
And tigers, while not amphibious, can swim. What's your point?
So an army is a nested hierarchy while the tactics and equipment of the army are not part of a nested hierarchy.
One minor correction, if you can show that Army marine units arose from land based units, etc. I would say that then it could still be a nested hierarchy. Just as land life returned to the sea not once, but at several times. The main problem with the supposed nesting is that a captain of one unit, is a captain in any other units. The attributes of a military organization are what violates the nested hierarchy concept. Therefore it is not a true nested hierarchy.
Simple -- fake sleep. How can anyone sleep in a fake bed?

The military is an imperfect nested hierarchy. It mimics some aspects of one but not all.
I will grant that. I meant to include the caveat that they would have to have developed their methods independent of the Navy. By adopting technology, equipment, or training methods they broke the nested hierarchy. I think we both agree that it is not a true nested hierarchy and the comparison fails. We can find all sorts of examples that can fit a nested hierarchy but we're talking about violations. Horse cav becoming air cav isn't a violation, but the Army adopting naval equipment and tactics to form their own frogmen unit is.

A nested hierarchy is nothing more than a hierarchical ordering of nested sets.
I admire your ability to move the goalposts.
However, even if it could be proved that the equipment used by the army does not fall into a phylogeny, that would be completely irrelevant to whether an army is a nested hierarchy.
The answer is Mixed views. Many Adventists are in the traditionalist camp, while others are rather liberal and some have joined those who believe that God created what we find in nature through evolution.Nic, I am curious as to what the SDA science consensus is with respect to sedimentary strata, i.e., the geologic column? According to young earth creationism, the layers of sedimentary strata were laid down via Noah's Flood. Does SDA science concur, differ, or have mixed views?
Thanks, that's kind of the impression I got looking at some of the SDA sites. I think that's pretty much the same with all Christian denominations, even those who have acknowledged evolution one way or the other. The answer is Mixed views. Do you have an alternate explanation?
Yes, the Big Bang was invented by scientists who have a commitment to explaining origins without the help of Divine revelation.
I can! I can sleep while watching TV, riding in a car, bus, or train; and I don’t need to be lying down or be seated to fall asleep. How can anyone sleep in a fake bed?
The person to first champion the idea was Georges Lemaitre, a JESUIT PRIEST!!!!!!
Yes, and Darwin had a religious background.
“On board the Beagle, Darwin was quite orthodox and would quote the Bible as an authority on morality.”

WOW!!!!!!The person to first champion the idea was Georges Lemaitre, a JESUIT PRIEST!!!!!!
Yes, the only thing I would change is to replace the term “invented” with the word “embraced.”Do you still stand by that statement?
