Elon Musk calls Trump’s ‘big, beautiful’ tax bill a ‘disgusting abomination’

The former head of Doge said the ‘outrageous’ tax bill will cause the deficit to grow to $2.5tn

Elon Musk, the billionaire tech entrepreneur, has opened a new rift with Donald Trump by denouncing the US president’s tax and spending bill as a “disgusting abomination”.
Musk’s online outburst could embolden fiscally conservative Republican senators – some of whom have already spoken out – to defy Trump as they continue crucial negotiations on Capitol Hill over the so-called “one big, beautiful bill”.

“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore,” Musk wrote on his X social media platform on Tuesday. “This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”
Musk, who had previously voiced criticism of the proposed legislation, quipping that it could be big or beautiful but not both, added on X: “It will massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to $2.5 trillion (!!!) and burden America citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt.”

He continued: “Congress is making America bankrupt.”

Sounds like trouble in paradise. But oh - who to criticise - the world's best president or the world's best businessman? They can't both be right.

The bill is unbiblical from my perspective. Why? Because borrowing and taking on more debt is not God's best. Though the following quote is for individual debt, I think it can apply to a nation as well.

"Since we do not know what the future brings, he tells us that acting in ways that presume on the future is boastful, arrogant, and evil. A majority of borrowing today presumes on the future. It's making a pledge or guarantee to repay without having a sure way of doing so. The Bible refers to this as surety and strongly warns us against engaging in such acts (Proverbs 6:1-5; Proverbs 11:15; Proverbs 17:18)." The bill also is tilted toward alleviating the taxes of the rich and removing benefits to the poor. Lastly, the deficit projections surely must include tariff incomes which frankly are unknown at this time. That is like a family taking a loan thinking that they will receive a promotion or a better job in the future. Unwise, unless you have the assurance from God. America has no such assurance. In fact the whole "America first" agenda is based on giving sparingly to others. Even taking back some of the seed that the USA has already planted.

Considering the revolving door of staff during the 1st Trump administration, this is not a surprise.

Calling Trump the best president in the world is subjective. But calling Musk, who's at $421 billion, the most successful businessman in the world is demonstrable.

No, he wants people to believe that. But he a few business bankruptcies. And that's how Trump runs the government.

There’s no trouble in paradise. It’s just another mind game for the masses. Do you genuinely believe he’s been in Trump’s company all this time and made sizable donations without knowing what he had at mind? What do you think they discuss at those fundraisers?

But surely many people are saying it are the best bankruptcies. They are saying they have never seen such big beautiful bankruptcies.

They were pretty good bankruptcies, investors lost out and Trump remains unscathed.

.....

Last week, Representative Mike Flood of Nebraska admitted during a town hall meeting in his district that he did not know that the bill would limit judges’ power to hold people in contempt for violating court orders. He would not have voted for the measure, he said, if he had realized.

......Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia said that she had been unaware that the mega-bill she voted for would block states from regulating artificial intelligence for a decade.

“Full transparency, I did not know about this section,” Ms. Greene posted on social media, calling it a violation of states’ rights and adding that she “would have voted NO if I had known this was in there.”
