"God arranged the members of the body, each one of them, as he chose"

1 Corinthians 12:18

In non-Calvinism, this verse should read:

"Humans arranged the members of the body, each one of them, as they chose"

Shouldn't it? Is there any way this verse allows for conditional election?

Why should anyone attribute the verse to exclusive Calvinism? Oh, I suppose if oe thinks that only Calvinism believes the Bible.

The verse has nothing to do with the theology of Calvinism. It's a statement about how God arranges believers, and in context, why gifts each one gets, etc.

Trying to make this an argument for Calvinism is futile.

Well to a certain extent humans DID arrange as they chose and still do to this day.

Sorry, this verse tells us that God designed the church, who would be in it, where they would be, etc.

I believe the Bible.

God gave us all certain gifts, but you and I both know that sometimes people try to use gifts they do not have.

Maybe you've already forgotten the OP. The verse does NOT say anyting about "designing" anything. It says that God arranged the members of the body. Though the church is made up of members of the body of Christ, the verse doesn't even address the "church". Please keep the OP in mind when posting.

Seems you don't understand some of it. As my corrections illustrate.

I don't argue that God arranges the member of the body of Christ. But what is your point about that? How does that verse support Calvinism, which seems to be your agenda?

"The body" is synonymous with the church.

It supports God's sovereignty to design his own church.
