  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have it, played it for about 1 week and got terribly board with it. Imo it is way over rated.Graphics are over rated also. The game is very tedious.High pc requirements, which is nice.

I also just got neverwinter nights 2... its ...ok.

How much more expansive is it that Elder Scrolls III?

I don't know about how it compares in actual square miles and I've heard it's not as big as Morrowind but it sure doesn't seem as big because of the quick travel.

I'm currently playing it but not very deeply. It depends on what you like whether you will like it or not. It's very open ended and making it interesting is entirely up to you. You have to go along with the story for it to happen unlike many RPGs that put you on a rail and make you fight canned battles to get to the next cutscene.

It's OK. The first half is pretty fun...but it starts to drag down into repetition and bordom through the 2nd half. Not a lot of diversity in the creatures you fight and not a lot of interesting story or sub-plots.

It's a bit over-rated.

I really like it, graphics are excellent, the main quest is really interesting and I love the way that you can find small villages, inns and manor houses when you're wandering around.

I was a bit disappointed that you can't join as many guilds etc that you could in morrowind, but it seems the mini-expansion is going to add one, and future expansions may add more.

What ever happened to real RPG's? =(
Now all we get is this first person shooter meets a small amount of RPG'ing....

Um...Oblivion is one of the only RPGs out there that truly lets you role-play. Therefore, it is more RPG-ish than some of the so-called RPGs out there.

Never played it, but I'm a big fan of RPG's. So, maybe I'll look into it :)

It's not a turn based RPG, I would warn you, though. It's definitly different from most RPGs out there on the market, but the Elder Scrolls' large scale and sandbox game play revolutionized gaming and set the standard for open ended gaming, so it's definitly worth a look-see. ;)

I'm somewhat interested in the direction they're going with Shivering Isles (especially with the whole madness thing), I can't say I saw that coming. It's a good idea though .

But yes, this game is indeed awesome. It's my first Elder Scrolls game, although I've played Morrowind for a bit in the past, I never got the chance to go very far with it. My boyfriend picked it up recently so I'm eventually going to have to do that as well.
