I have used my quote since I have been a member here. I like it because at one time I conquered a severe depression in my life. I went through times where I felt completely insignificant and just somebody taking up space in the world. I came across this while I was reading something during that time in my life and it rang true...

I also really like the quote by Belgian King Baudoin:
"It takes 20 years or more of peace to make a man. It takes only 20 seconds of war to destroy him"

My signiture is really nothing special. But I used a few quotes from my Pastor and mixed it in with a bunch of different Bible verses and other words. After that I just signed it.

The first part of mine is, "I am not, but I know I AM." My youth pastor introduced me to this a while ago, and I just love it! I am not (God), but I know I AM, I AM meaning God. We aren't God, but we can know God as our savior, friend, and Lord.

The second part is a quote from one of Toby mac's songs that I really liked. Really a reminder for me to just stop talking and really live life for God.

The third part is something that I heard somewhere, but I can't remember right now. I just love it because lot's of people are quick to say that they would die for their faith in Jesus, but are often slow to actually live for Him.

Marcel - I must confess my disappointment at the Anne Frank Huis. Quite a substantial entrance fee, but you don't get much of an impression for what it looked like at the time, aside from photos on a wall (Anne's) and pencil/pen-marks on a wall to watch the girls and Peter as they grew. Lots of videos and stuff in glass boxes. However.... the Ten Boom Museum in Haarlem was fantastic! Free admission, free tours, and you can take all the photos you want. It's been re-created out of donated furniture....even the secret wall is redone to give visitors a look at how small the space was. (Nazis stole all the furniture after arresting the family.) Surprisingly, there is *one* item that made its way back to the Ten Boom house, but you'll have to find out for yourself.

* 1 Peter 4:16 is an awesome verse. I made it my life verse in high school while playing a Christian Nintendo game I'd gotten for Christmas. There's 3 games on the cartridge, all about Christ's birth: the 3 wisemen making their journey to Bethlehem, the flight to Egypt, and Mary 'n Joseph going back to Jerusalem to find 8-yr-old Jesus. To earn "life scrolls" in the game, each scroll you come across is a question that gives you 2 lives per scroll earned, mostly true-false and fill in the blank. 1 Peter 4:16 was one of the verses.

* "Christ is LIFE!" -- Back in '95 I saw some awesome T-shirts at a Christian bookstore. The shirts had pictures of different sports. They all said "Christ is life...the rest is just (soccer, football, etc.)" I think that was taken from the recently-invented phrase "(activity) is life...the rest is just details."

I'm still psyched about my trip to San Diego for the final homecoming of the USS Constellation, America's Flagship. My brother was on that ship and was also making his final homecoming aboard that ship. I've never experienced anything that made my heart swell with American pride more than welcoming our sailors home from war. The Constellation is to be decomissioned this year and the USS Ronald Reagan is taking her place. I like Reagan's quote as it seemed fitting with current events and the war in Iraq.

Omigoobers!!!! when will it be decommissioned?! My dad, served aboard USS "Connie" from 1964 to 1968...was killed in Laos on 12/20/68 during the Vietnam War....

I'm one of those people that get fixed on a subject and am obsessed about it till I find something new or get bored of the current subject. Right now its the Terminator 3 movie :o thus the signature, avatar, photo
