Eko to star in upcoming G.I. Joe movie

Our old friend Eko (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) is slated to star as Heavy Duty in the upcoming G.I. Joe movie in 2009.

Not sure how many of you guys were G.I. Joe fans back in the 80s, but for guys like me, this is AWESOME!

I haven't seen a movie in a theatre since.... well, I think Order of the Phoenix might have been the last thing we saw. We usually wait for DVD. But we are seeing Prince Caspian in the theatre this weekend, come hell or high water!

I don't think we had seen anything since Spiderman 2 - or something like that. We went on our anniversary - I didn't really want to go see Iron Man - but I'm glad we did, I really enjoyed it.

Ray Park has made quite the career for himself, considering he started out as a fight coordinator

But seriously...Dwayne Johnson, Brendan Fraser, and Marlon Wayans in one movie? There's no possible way it can succeed. They might as well have gone all the way and cast Chris Kattan or Dana Carvey and really screwed up the movie.

I think that a movie about G.I. Joe can only be so good anyway.

I think that the casting was more intended to get big names that look like the original characters instead of how well they can all act together.

That being said, however, I think they should've casted a more buff guy as Destro! I didn't realize until I just read this on Wikipedia... but Destro's silver face was just a mask that he wore because of tradition to his ancestor's... not something that he was condemned to wear due to an accident.
