Edward Jeffreys was born in1899 and was the Son of Stephen Jeffreys and the nephew of George Jeffreys. All were Evangelists. Edward was baptised in the Holy Spirit as a boy and spoke in tongues, before his father and uncle. He went on to start the Bethel Evangelistic Society in1928 and many churches were planted through his crusades The society closed in 1947 and many churches went to AOG and Elim. Edward died in 1974

The church in Gloucestershire that I pastored was started by a crusade with Edward Jeffreys in the Subscription rooms in the late 1920's. It was quite a revival in a small community and the church there was established and going on today.

As a boy Edward observed his father,Stephen, when he was pastoring Llanelly and he travelled with him on many of his missions and often led the singing and saw wonderful things,as people were saved, healed and blessed!

There were 60 churches established at the height of Edward Jeffrey's evangelistic campaigns with his Bethel Evangelistic Society.
