  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Honestly, I'm Pro-life. I wish abortion wasn't used to kill healthy babies just because a person didn't use a condom during consentual sex.

But, I also believe that its a woman's choice, more so in certain cases. If a lady gets concieves after being raped, and wants to have an abortion, I feel as though thats a moral decision on her part.

BUT when it comes down to it, I am Pro-Adoption. I wish the option of giving the child up for adoption was 'pushed' as much as abortion is.

I think that it's absolutely fine to abort an eptopic pregnancy. by the point that that happens, the baby is likely dead anyways.

If it were not for abortions of eptopic pregnancies, my mom and brother would not be here today. After my mother had me, she experienced an EP and would have died had she not gone through surgery.

Count one more "no" over here.

In sharp contrast to the belief of (so it seems) many pro-lifers out there, abortions are not performed for the sole reason of a careless mom who didn't care for contraception being able to party on and keep (bleep)ing with everyone who can't run away fast enough. This thread's topic is one of the many examples that violate this nice easy view of the complex topic.

nope its not wrong to abort an ep. As for failed contraception, it is always a choice by the mother. I can think of a lot of valid reasons to go for that option. The only time I have a problem with abortion is when people use it as contraception. Even still it is their choice.

cheers ;)

My understanding is that not all ectopic pregnancies are also tubal pregnancies (eg the embryo could attatch elsewhere in the abdominal cavity). In the case that the ep will not automatically kill or seriously harm the mother (as in tubal pregnancies), I see little reason for abortion and lots of reason for good prenatal care.

In cases of tubal pregnancies, I vote that the pregnancy be aborted, in order to save the life we can (the mother's).
