The study doesn't indicate the types of mushrooms eaten. There are significant differences in the types of mushroom commonly eaten in different cultures (e.g. Japan), and other dietary habits may also play a role, so even if the study has found a genuine effect, it doesn't necessarily mean that eating more common field mushrooms (as in the UK or USA) will have the same effects.

I think more work needs to be done...

I can think of several species of mushroom that would definitely reduce the risk of prostate cancer.

Incautious wild mushroom eaters tend to not live long enough for prostate problems to be an issue
