Easter is around the corner!!! What do you do special for this time of the year?!!

When it's Orthodox Easter, my family cooks tons of food and family come over. However since I stay for the whole Resurrection Service and Divine Liturgy, nearly all the food is gone and everyone is almost gone or sleeping.

But family does spend time together though for dinner.

Hi. I don't celebrate Easter now, only in one month from now (Romania celebrates Easter following the Orthodox calendar).


What do you cook??
*I need recipes Yeah my mind is in the food... hehe...

We usually make food made from lamb. Also, we have a traditional meal named "sarmale" which is a forcemeat rolls in cabbage leaves.

-What do you sing? pray etc. How do you worship and what song/hymns you use in your church /Denon. ???
Well we sing praise and worship songs, I don't think that something special. But, in the orthodox church, they sing this song: HRISTOS A INVIAT - YouTube

-What special family traditions you have like special games, activities you do ...
We have the egg tradition in the middle of the night, where we try to break each other's eggs. We are not an united family so we don't spend so much time together.

I simply don't observe any day different from the one I am living today. The past is gone and the future is none of my business. I believe the church is one body consisting of those who have submitted to the Holy Spirit fully and whose will is one with God. So the church is the kingdom of heaven on earth and whenever two or three are gathered in His name He is there. This implies a team effect since we are doing the same will orchestrated by the head. We sing scripture songs mostly, like
"Our God is the awesome God
He reigns from heaven above
with wisdom, power and looooove
our God is the awesome God.
and we worship in spirit and truth.

Candy and chocolate are not, I think, symbolic - just celebratory.

I must confess I am always perplexed when people say they don't see the connection. I don't have any problem with them as part of family celebrations - I think that as well as our community celebrations as Christians, we can have these little family rituals.
