I have two girls and two boys, and I voted BOTH.
My two girls are entirely different from eachother, and my two boys are entirely different from eachother.
On the physical/active side, my boys are WAY more active than my girls...and way more likely to get into things...but on the verbal side, my girls are always talking my ear off and wanting to do some new craft every other second...
Each personality is totally different, it's like I have to learn parenting all over again in order to find ways to reach into their heart and connect in that deep place with them.
I think the difference isn't gender-related, but often related to my own personality, because I have a much easier time with some of the children than I do the others, simply becuase my personality has a natural "click" with them, as opposed to the others.
I do NOT have favorites--that's not what I'm saying--I'm just saying I don't have to work as hard with some, but that's not because of
them, it's because of
me.
The book, "The 5 Love Languages" really helped me learn how to reach each individual child better, and helped me see why, with one of them in particular, I could never seem to make much headway! Come to find out, she was just on a whole different wavelength...and when I found it, finally, we had an instant click.
