ok...I don't know which story to start with--I'll go with the second one

It's about these two girls--college roomates. One of them never knew her real father (he diappeared just after her birth; her mother has remarried since, but this girl (I don't know her name...I'll call her 1) does not like her stepfather.

the other girl (2) is from a relatively average family. She ejoys doing research--she's almopst obsessive about it. She'll research anything--and can orangize the information very well.

The story starts when 2 decides to find out what happened to 1's father--she spends months looking it up, then gives 1 over 100 pages of information about her father.

1 discovers that her father was part of an organization that is devoted to communicating with and even traveling to other worlds. They are generally viewed as a bunch of lunatics--especially because they do not have any proof that they are actually doing anything.

1 decides to go search for her father...she eventually travels to the organization's headquarters.

 

[Tariel]

Upon reaching the headquarters she is taken to a prison beneath their building and held hostage. They will not tell her why

over time, 1 learns that she is being held hostage so that the organization can learn more about her father

 

[Tariel]

She also learned that 2 knew all this and was helping the organization get their hhands on her

 

[Tariel]

There was something else too...something about 1's father that all of her captors knew...but that they would never mention

 

[Tariel]

All 1 was able to find out was that it was the reason they were looking for her father

 

[Tariel]

and that it was something big

 

[Tariel]

after a little longer, 1 was finally told that her father was the first man brought out of another world

 

[Tariel]

But he needed to go back to where he came from

 

[Tariel]

And she was told that she would have to be killed because they had to destroy any evidence of her father ever being there

 

[Tariel]

and I'm not sure what happens after that

 

[Tariel]
