Easy.

We were originally created with the ability to evolve as needed to the still inhabitable world. In fact, we had a different life process and laws, basically. For example, the long life spans. Impossible in this present world. Apparently the adapting was very fast. Evience of this is found in the ark of Noah. The kinds had to evolve into many types or species since then.

What evidence is found in the ark of Noah? As far as most people aware, Christians have never been able to find the ark. Are you hiding something from the rest of the world?

So if we follow through with this logic, would you say that predictions that have come true in other religions means they are equally reliable?
If they are as consistent as the Bible, yes. But they are not.

This is scientific logic, by the way. If a hypothesis is proposed and tested and its predictions are consistent with observed facts, then it is highly likely to be true and becomes a theory. I think that's how it works, right? :)

Why don't you just stop responding, it is clear you are an argumentative person. This is a forum, it's called free speech, stop trying to correct posts and try and to find common ground with people. Is this how you typically treat new members? I certainly hope you do not represent the attitude of the rest of the members here. If so, I won't be a member here long - is that your goal? I have seen your type before, I just wasn't expecting it on a Christian website. You really are full of yourself, aren't you? - perhaps try some humility on occasion, Mr. 'generalising'

You made a wrong generalization, and was corrected. The right thing to do is learn from it and move on, instead of becoming defensive and aggressive. Pride can be blinding, and if you don't learn to control your pride, you'll end up intellectually stunted. I also suggest growing some thicker skin. This is the internet after all.

Oh, I see, let's gang up on the new guy - Your opinion was that I was wrong, boo hoo, cry me a river bro - I only submit to fellow Christians, not haters, so don't expect me to change a darn thing, seems like some people like to argue on this site - I stand by my original post. I did make one mistake, though: responding to that original haters response to begin with. I won't let that happen again.

Sometimes the new guy needs to learn how things are done around here.

Why are you so interested in my posts, I mean really dude, are you getting off to this? I am the way I am, don't expect me to change, it is futile. Perhaps instead of trying to prove you are smarter than everyone else, and actually stop becoming a stumbling block, and were a peace maker, you would have gotten to know my gentle side. But instead, you pre-judged me, had your little corrective rant, and now you are just being a bully because you don't like me and you think I deserve it. I am willing to forget this first day on the website, I will try harder to contain myself, but I just get sick of taking crap off people. You may find that I am a lot better person than you think, hopefully you are not gonna start trolling my posts like a stalker. Go pick on someone else if that's what you are into, otherwise I am offering an olive branch here dude.

Not especially. Why exactly is that the first place your mind went?

I am the way I am, don't expect me to change, it is futile.

So why are you trying to tell everyone else how to act and behave?

Perhaps instead of trying to prove you are smarter than everyone else

That's not really something that requires proof, sweetheart.

and actually stop becoming a stumbling block and were a peace maker

Again, this is rich coming from someone who made a faulty generalisation about people who accept science, regardless of whether or not they are Christian.

you would have gotten to know my gentle side. But instead, you pre-judged me, had your little corrective rant, and now you are just being a bully because you don't like me and you think I deserve it.

No. There was no need to pre-judge as your post showed your language was careless - something you seem distinctly unwilling to confront.

I am willing to forget this first day on the website, I will try harder to contain myself, but I just get sick of taking crap off people.

This was barely crap - I'd hate to see you react when someone does decide to really have a go at you.

You may find that I am a lot better person than you think, hopefully you are not gonna start trolling my posts like a stalker. Go pick on someone else if that's what you are into, otherwise I am offering an olive branch here dude.

Happy to keep on discussing things, but this overreaction at the merest hint of criticism isn't going to get you very far.

I don't hate you and I never will. Just because I don't share your beliefs doesn't mean I hate you.

Yes, people like to argue. Debating is one of the best ways to learn. If you don't want to listen to differences of opinion, ignorance, fanatism and self-delusion are unfortunate consequences. You're a fallible creature, just like the rest of us, and if you think you can figure everything out by yourself, you're not exactly embracing reality.

If you think your earlier generalization was correct, the correct approach is to try to back it up. If you think we've misunderstood what you were saying, the correct thing is to try to enlighten us. The wrong approach is the one you took, i.e. becoming defensive while liberally hurling attacks.

I hear ya, but I think you are one post behind, I have been trying to wrap this thing up on a high note (see last post). And, yes, I am a bit narcissistic, I only recently discovered that - maybe I will have my stuff straight by the time the Lord calls me home, but I still say you guys gave me a harder time than was called for. But, I digress, I will admit some fault here if you guys will let this thing die. I plan on forgetting all about it, and trying to be a better Christian starting now. Peace, okay.

\According to science, and other physical evidence (fossils, breeding grounds, ect.) Science has come to the conclusion these are our closest relatives (in evolution, Homo sapien-modern man, and Homo hablis- closest to our modern form)
But since there is this evidence, I am so confused
Ive grown up in the church, and have experienced our perfect God in so many ways. How can I break down this evidence as truth, and still serve a God who created the whole world in 7 days? I just see conflict and want to find resolution within my own faith in order to serve God, this is a huge stumbling block for me recently since studying this in a secular university.

Richterface, there is no need for this to be a "stumbling block" for your faith - others have only blinded you into thinking that it must be. Many atheists and most Creationists like to insinuate, or just flat-out state, that modern science and Christianity are incompatible. This is simply untrue. Biological evolution, common descent, and an old earth have nothing to do with God's existence.

So many Christians place their faith in the infallibility of the Bible rather than in God. This is foolish and, in my opinion, simple idolatry. The Bible was written by men, and as all men as fallible so is the Bible - to anyone who disagrees with that statement I would like to ask "how many angels were present when Jesus' tomb was discovered to be empty?" The answer varies from 0 to 1 to 2 depending on which Gospel you read.

God doesn't prove Himself to us in a book, He proves Himself to us in our lives.

I'd like to commend you for actually being open to the idea that the literal Genesis story may not be correct. If only more Creationists would actually open their minds up to the evidence that is out there. Don't make the evidence test your faith, rather let the evidence give you a fresh perspective on God's creation.

This is scientific logic, by the way. If a hypothesis is proposed and tested and its predictions are consistent with observed facts, then it is highly likely to be true and becomes a theory. I think that's how it works, right? :)

Not if a hypothesis has been falsified. If a hypothesis has been falsified, it by definition cannot be true, and therefore it doesn't matter how consistent the hypothesis is with other evidence. This is the case with a literal interpretation of Genesis, it has been falsified many times over by many different fields of science.

I don't mind letting it die. I merely posted my responses because I felt there were some important points that neeeded to be made.

That said, I think Cabal was very nice about it, as he always is. There are plenty of worse characters you could have run into.

I hope you won't forget about it though. There is much to learn in encounters such as this, if you try to analyze what happened and why people and you reacted the way they/you did.

Peter :)
