Well I've seen enough people around here talking about how great e-Sword is, so I finally downloaded it. What I was wondering is what add-ons you all would recommend. I've downloaded the English translations that I'd like so far. What about the commentaries, etc.? Any favourites? Any you suggest I avoid?
Thanks!

welcome to the e-Sword club, Hee Hee :)

Ok, it depends what you want to do with it, e-Sword is after all a tool.
Personally I have dowloaded it it to compare translations, so I have a many as possible!
I recommend you work out what you want to do with this tool, download all the good stuff, and if you come across some add-ons you don't really like, just unistall, kinda weeding it out :)

I just use the basic E-Sword, but if they have any commentaries by David Guzik or Chuck Missler, try those. I don't know if they have theirs, however.

Cool, thanks guys. I'm not sure of all the things I will use it for yet. Definitely comparing translations, looking at definitions, etc. I use Biblegateway a lot, but I think I will like this better (except for not having the NASB translation because that costs $$). I'm happy to see Calvin's Institutes and Spurgeon devotionals on there, too.

I have:

Spurgeon's commentary on Psalms
Treasure of Scripture Knowledge
Wesley's notes
Albert Barnes' commentary
Matthew Henry
John Gill
Adam Clarke
Spurgeon's devotional

All the commentaries are good (they're classics). I read them all when looking at a specific passage.

I didn't know they had Spurgeon? I may download that. Spurgeon is great!
