  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have written and published two ebooks that are doing fairly well on Amazon. They are war/mercenary books based on current geo political issues in Africa. I never bothered trying to get published with a christian publisher because they are too graphic and realistic. Not in a gratutitous way but rather in a realistic way. I don't label them as christian fiction because they are not.

However, next year I will release a full length WW2 novel about a conscientious objector who ends up volunteering as a medic only to find himself in the middle of vicious combat and along the way struggling with his beliefs and the reality of war. It will be labeled as Christian Fiction as well as War/Action Adventure.

Unless you fit the mold of CBA and publish stuff women read, it seems like a hopeless task to try and publish traditionally. Not to mention the 18 months to 2 years it takes to get a book on shelf after years of submitting. I've sold more and made more than most first time traditionally published authors. If you have good writing, good covers, etc, I do not believe people care where the book comes from.

Anybody reading anything in the way of MENs fiction? It seems like the CBA is geared solely towards women.

For anyone interested in Africa, Missionaries captured, Mercenary's and good vs evil,

I did some research on the genre. The data I saw has more than 60% of those who read it are woman in the 30+. I think it is mainly because of the types of books they publish.

Question for you though, how is the eBook selling going? Did you do a lot to market the book? I am working on my second book now and considering the Kindle route. I would be interest on how you marketed your book, if you don't mind.
