I debated on whether to post this here or in the Computers & Internet forum. I decided to put it here because I think it is more relevant to the Bible students in the community. My apologies if it seems a little off topic.
E-Learning is the general term used for Internet based distance education. It is receiving considerable attention these days particularly among corporations looking for ways to provide scalable, cost-effective training for their employees. It definitely has a higher education and corporate business application at the moment, but could it be useful in an advanced Biblical studies context? There are a few seminaries that provide distance education and some are beginning to offer courses via the Internet. What about high quality Biblical studies for the average (albeit well-configured with computing equipment) Christian? Would you participate in an online Bible study class? It seems to me that the large number of people who participate in discussions at ChristianForums.com suggests that many people enjoy the Internet context. Any thoughts?
