Although I have my opinions about the wisdom of your decision, I am in no position to tell you what to do, and even if I were you would have no reason to listen to me. Instead, just make sure you are seeking God's direction on this issue (not your own, not mine, not other people's, not your church's).

And, please don't think I am just picking on this as a "gay issue." If you told me that you were planning on having sex with your girlfriend because your church told you it was okay, I would say substantially the same thing.

David, I've done some studing on the topic of homosexuality in the Bible and I feel your dealing honestly with the Bible and its historical context.
